What is collected when you read Access Brussels, who collects it, and how to stop it. Short version: we collect almost nothing ourselves, and the third parties that do are named below.
What we collect ourselves
Nothing that identifies you. This site has no accounts, no newsletter, no comments and no contact form. We do not ask for your name or your email address, and there is nowhere on the site to give them to us.
Our web host keeps standard server logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser — for security and troubleshooting. That is a normal part of running a website and those logs are not used to build a profile of you.

What third parties collect
Advertising
We show advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to personalise them. You can review and change what Google uses at My Ad Center, and opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. More generally, aboutads.info and Your Online Choices list industry-wide opt-outs.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are read. It tells us how many people arrived and what they looked at; it does not tell us who you are.
Affiliate links
Some articles link to ticket and booking partners. Where a link earns us a commission it carries
rel="sponsored" and the page says so. Following one may set a cookie identifying that
you arrived from us, so a booking is credited correctly. It costs you nothing extra,
and we are not told who you are.

Images
Photographs are hosted on this site rather than hot-linked. Each one credits its author and licence and links to the source on Wikimedia Commons; following that link takes you to their site, under their policy.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK you have rights of access, correction and erasure over personal data held about you. Since we hold none beyond server logs, requests about advertising and analytics data are best made to Google directly, as they are the controller of it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time — the site works without them.

Children
This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we will change the date below rather than announce it. Last updated 5 September 2026.
